What does a koi tattoo mean?

Koi is the Japanese word for carp.

It's a symbol for good luck and fortune and   is commonly seen in Japanese mythology.

Legend has it that koi swimming upstream will become a dragon. It is usually reflects a person’s aspirations to improve themselves. A Japanese Koi tattoo is often chosen by those that want to showcase their personal strength or perseverance through difficult situations.

Marc Pinto does lots of koi tattoos at Primitive Tattoo Studio in Perth City.
